About the role
The Protection Technical Lead will coordinate and monitor safeguarding programs for international projects in South Sudan, ensuring compliance with Samaritan's Purse policies and global standards.
Key responsibilities
- Lead protection and safeguarding program coordination and monitoring.
- Identify technical gaps in protection services and develop solutions, including adapting training resources and creating SOPs.
- Assess, monitor, and report safeguarding risks in line with organizational policies.
- Build staff capacity through tailored training plans and maintain training attendance records.
- Manage safeguarding incidents, develop investigation terms of reference, and lead or coordinate PSEA investigations.
- Serve as liaison with government and NGO authorities, participating in protection cluster meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required profile
- Degree in law, social work, or a related field with experience in safeguarding, PSEA, or child protection.
- Minimum three years of experience in a safeguarding or PSEA-focused role (or equivalent).
- Experience with gender‑based violence issues and providing technical guidance on protection/gender analysis is preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of international protection standards and instruments.
- Highly effective presentation skills.
- Thorough understanding of the South Sudan context and related protection challenges.
