HR Intern

About the role

This internship offers a hands‑on experience in Human Resources within UNOPS, an international organization supporting development projects in South Sudan. The intern will work closely with the HR Officer and the portfolio team, gaining exposure to the full range of HR functions while supporting the South Sudan office.

Key responsibilities

• Assist recruitment campaigns: support outreach, long‑list and short‑list candidates, administer written assessments and provide logistical support for interviews.
• Take minutes during interview panels and help coordinate candidate communications.
• Administer contracts in UNOPS’ ERP system, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Research and contribute to the competency‑based interview question library.
• Monitor and process payments for retainers and other HR‑related transactions.
• Provide daily support to the HR Officer, including policy advice and research projects.
• Participate in knowledge‑management initiatives and suggest process‑improvement ideas.
• Attend training on competency‑based interview methodology and learn to use the UNOPS ERP system for HR tasks.

Required profile

• Recent graduate looking to start a career in Human Resources.
• Strong interest in recruitment, contract administration and HR policy.
• Ability to work under close supervision and take initiative on assigned tasks.
• Good organizational and communication skills.
