General Manager – Gold Mining

About the role

The General Manager – Gold Mining leads the company’s gold mining operations in South Sudan, providing strategic direction and ensuring safe, efficient, and profitable production. You will oversee all phases from exploration to processing, while championing sustainable practices and strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Set and execute short‑, medium‑, and long‑term operational and business strategies.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams to meet production, financial, and performance targets.
• Oversee exploration programs, geological mapping, drilling, sampling, grade control and resource estimation.
• Direct mining operations, including development, extraction, hauling, processing and maintenance.
• Manage the processing plant to maximise recovery, control costs and ensure environmental compliance.
• Develop and control annual operating and capital budgets, financial forecasts and cost‑control measures.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with HSEQ regulations.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in gold mining or similar mineral‑resource operations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large, multidisciplinary teams and drive operational excellence.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, sustainable mining practices and corporate governance.
• Excellent strategic thinking with a track record of meeting production and financial targets.
