About the role
World Vision is seeking a motivated professional to co‑lead its Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL) cluster in South Sudan. The role will support vulnerable children and families by coordinating humanitarian interventions, ensuring strategic alignment, and fostering collaboration among partners.
Key responsibilities
- Co‑lead a large network of FSL partners through cluster meetings, training workshops, and one‑on‑one advisement.
- Provide leadership and strategic direction for prioritising needs, selecting and monitoring project proposals, and aligning with funding mechanisms such as the South Sudan Humanitarian Fund, CERF, and DOS priorities.
- Conduct FSL‑related assessments, analyses, and prioritisation processes within the Inter‑Cluster Coordination Group and other sub‑national mechanisms.
- Facilitate Technical Working Groups (e.g., Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, Cash and Markets) and oversee implementation of the national Integrated Emergency Response Programme.
- Maintain and regularly update the cluster’s strategic operational framework, ensuring effective dialogue with national NGOs, INGOs, and the NGO Forum.
Required profile
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in Disaster Risk Management, Agriculture, Food Security or a related field from a recognised university.
- At least 5 years of experience managing FSL projects in fragile or humanitarian contexts.
- Strong understanding of the humanitarian Cluster system, pooled funding mechanisms and the link between emergency response, recovery and development.
- Experience in proposal development, budget management and working with UN agencies or within the Cluster system.
- Fluent written and spoken English; Arabic is a plus.
- Willingness to be based in Juba with up to 25 % domestic field travel and to work in a hardship posting.

- Ability to conduct complex analysis and contribute to strategic planning.
- Effective communication and facilitation skills for multi‑stakeholder environments.
- Application of humanitarian principles across emergency, recovery and development phases.
