Emergency Response WASH Program Manager

About the role

Samaritan's Purse is seeking an experienced Emergency Response WASH Program Manager to lead water, sanitation and hygiene initiatives in South Sudan. The role combines technical oversight, budget management and team leadership while reflecting the organization’s faith‑based mission.

Key responsibilities

• Design, launch and monitor innovative WASH programs that address local service gaps and respect cultural norms.
• Serve as the primary budget holder, tracking expenditures to ensure compliance with donor requirements and organizational policies.
• Recruit, mentor and supervise WASH staff, providing professional development and spiritual guidance.
• Represent the program on tender committees, develop technical specifications, evaluate bids and safeguard procurement independence.
• Partner with Global Technical Advisors to verify design quality, construction safety, water quality controls and environmental safeguards.
• Coordinate with M&E, HR, Finance, Security and Logistics teams and produce high‑quality reports, proposals and SOPs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, public health, international development or a related field.
• Minimum four years of WASH experience, including at least two years managing staff, budgets, contractors and infrastructure quality.
• Strong knowledge of project management, proposal writing and program monitoring/evaluation.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities.
