Driver – Transport Staff & Supplies for STRIDES in Juba

About the role

The Driver will provide safe, reliable transportation for staff, consultants and official visitors of the STRIDES program in Juba, South Sudan. This role also supports the movement of program supplies and equipment to the office, warehouse and field sites while adhering to FHI 360 safety and security protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Transport Country Office personnel and visitors to meetings, program sites, the airport and other approved destinations in Juba and, when required, to field sites outside the city.
• Maintain the vehicle’s cleanliness, safety and security, including regular oil changes, brake checks, tire pressure monitoring and timely reporting of maintenance needs.
• Arrange major repairs, keep vehicle registration, insurance, permits and logs up‑to‑date, and ensure compliance with local regulations and FHI 360 policies.
• Maintain accurate mileage, fuel and trip records and plan routes based on schedules or ad‑hoc requests.
• Assist with the transport of program supplies, laboratory or PPE equipment, and documents between the office, warehouse and field locations.
• Provide protection for clients in high‑risk locations when required and perform any other duties assigned.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s licence for the vehicle class used.
• Ability to follow road safety regulations and local traffic laws.
• Willingness to work in accordance with FHI 360 safety and security procedures.
• Flexibility to travel on unpaved or remote roads for field site visits.
