Consultant – Gender in Education Policy Development

About the role

WUSC is seeking a consultant to lead gender‑focused policy development for the education sector in South Sudan. The role supports the SCALE project’s objective of improving equitable access to quality education for adolescent girls and female youth.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct gender analysis of existing education policies and identify gaps.
• Develop evidence‑based policy recommendations in collaboration with the Ministry of General Education and Instructions (MoGEI) and other stakeholders.
• Draft policy briefs, technical reports, and guidance documents that integrate gender‑responsive approaches.
• Facilitate workshops and consultations with government officials, NGOs, and community representatives.
• Support the implementation and monitoring framework of the SCALE project to ensure gender considerations are embedded.

Required profile

• Proven experience in gender and education policy development, preferably in humanitarian or post‑conflict settings.
• Familiarity with South Sudan’s education system and relevant government structures.
• Strong analytical, writing, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with multiple partners.
