Construction Engineer – Road Project

About the role

The Construction Engineer will lead and coordinate all road construction activities for a major highway project in South Sudan. You will ensure that works are executed to approved drawings, specifications, safety standards, and project schedules while providing technical support to site teams and contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise earthworks, drainage, subgrade, pavement, structures, road furniture and ancillary works.
• Inspect workmanship, materials and construction methods; review test requests and technical submissions.
• Monitor daily and weekly progress, identify delays, manage resources and report to the Project Manager.
• Coordinate with Highway, Survey, Structural, Materials, Hydrology and other engineering disciplines, as well as with contractors and consultants.
• Prepare progress reports, inspection records, as‑built documentation and support variation and claim assessments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Highway Engineering, Construction Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in road/highway construction, including supervision of major works.
• Proven ability to manage quality control, contractor coordination, progress monitoring and technical problem solving.
