Communications Manager

About the role

World Vision South Sudan is seeking a Communications Manager to lead strategy, advocacy, and content development that amplifies the voices of vulnerable children and supports the organisation’s humanitarian‑development‑peacebuilding agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and update communications and external engagement plans aligned with World Vision’s global brand and South Sudan priorities.
• Lead the communications team and field points of contact, ensuring effective partnership and performance.
• Provide evidence‑based messaging for advocacy on child protection, violence against children, and humanitarian‑development‑peacebuilding nexus.
• Support the production of advocacy reports, position papers, and policy‑relevant documents.
• Source, manage, and produce multimedia content (video, photos, stories) in collaboration with project teams and partners.
• Oversee creation of written materials such as annual reports, case studies, and stories.
• Maintain content management systems including Story Hub, Content Flow, and Kissflow.

Required profile

• Proven experience in communications, advocacy, and content development within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Ability to manage a multidisciplinary team and coordinate with field staff and partners.
• Strong understanding of child protection and protection‑of‑civilians issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
