Communication Officer – Juba (South Sudan)

About the role

The Communication Officer will lead IsraAID South Sudan’s visibility efforts, raising awareness of the humanitarian situation and the organization’s work. Reporting to the Country Director, the role is based in Juba and starts as soon as possible.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a communication strategy in coordination with the Country Director and headquarters focal points.
• Lead the rollout of the strategy to increase impact and visibility across media channels.
• Produce communication products, press releases, fact sheets, and other materials to support advocacy, donor reporting, and resource mobilization.
• Gather and craft success stories, human‑interest features, and news angles for the website, social media, and media relations.
• Conduct interviews with program staff and beneficiaries to generate high‑quality content.
• Manage official social media platforms and maintain relationships with local media outlets.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in communications, media relations, and content creation.
• Ability to work collaboratively with program teams and senior management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
