Assistant Commodity Manager – Emergency Response

About the role

The Assistant Commodity Manager, Emergency Response will support the International Projects team in Unity State, South Sudan. This position focuses on managing the full commodity supply chain for humanitarian emergencies while upholding the organization’s Christian values.

Key responsibilities

• Lead commodity supply‑chain forecasting, coordinate procurement and replenishment, and track stock from source to beneficiary distribution.
• Direct warehouse operations, ensuring proper receiving, storage, issuance, security, inventory control, and application of FEFO/FIFO principles.
• Supervise emergency commodity distributions, follow Sphere Standards and SOPs, and maintain precise documentation and reconciliation.
• Prepare timely, audit‑ready reports on stock, pipeline and distribution that meet donor and compliance requirements.
• Partner with logistics, procurement, program, finance, suppliers and external partners; train and guide warehouse personnel.
• Engage briefly with beneficiaries to promote welfare in line with Christian values.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Procurement or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in supply chain, logistics or commodity management, preferably in humanitarian emergency response or fragile contexts.
• Experience managing large‑scale commodity pipelines, emergency distributions and warehouse operations.
• Prior experience with INGOs, faith‑based organizations or UN agencies is highly desirable; experience in South Sudan or similar contexts is an advantage.
