WASH Team Leader – Aweil, South Sudan

About the role

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is seeking a WASH Team Leader to provide day‑to‑day technical guidance and supervision for flood‑resilient shelter construction and borehole drilling activities in Aweil, South Sudan. The role supports the implementation of emergency shelter and water‑sanitation‑hygiene programmes across Northern Bahr el Gazal, Warrap and Western Bahr el Gazal states.

Key responsibilities

• Guide and supervise field teams in the construction, rehabilitation and maintenance of emergency shelters.
• Oversee borehole drilling, rehabilitation and related water‑infrastructure works.
• Provide technical inputs for infrastructure design, develop schematic drawings and bills of quantities.
• Inspect and monitor the quality of works carried out by project participants and NRC staff.
• Assist the WASH Coordinator in developing WASH and shelter programming and in overall project planning.
• Collaborate with other Project Officers and assistants to ensure timely delivery of high‑quality shelter programmes.

Required profile

• Experience in managing WASH and shelter construction activities in humanitarian settings.
• Ability to produce technical designs, schematic drawings and detailed bills of quantities.
• Strong supervisory skills to monitor field teams and contractors.
• Familiarity with flood‑resilient shelter standards and borehole drilling techniques.
