Protection Officer – South Sudan (Bor)

About the role

The Protection from Violence Officer will lead day‑to‑day implementation of the Protection from Violence (PfV) portfolio in Jonglei, South Sudan. Based in Bor, the role involves extensive travel to deliver mobile services across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Implement civilian self‑protection programming and individual response services.
• Conduct protection monitoring, analysis and advocacy in line with Safe and Inclusive Programming principles.
• Prepare and submit regular status, internal and donor reports.
• Ensure compliance with NRC policies, code of conduct and humanitarian principles.
• Collaborate with PfV Officers and Assistants, providing technical guidance and support.
• Document and promote ideas for technical improvement and programme development.

Required profile

• Experience working on protection from violence programmes in humanitarian settings.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 80% of the time.
• Familiarity with NRC policies, tools, handbooks and humanitarian standards.
• Strong reporting and documentation skills.
