Protection Cluster Coordinator – South Sudan

About the role

The Protection Cluster Coordinator will lead the national Protection Cluster in South Sudan, working closely with UNHCR and other protection partners. The role focuses on coordinating protection activities, ensuring effective information management, and representing the cluster to donors, government and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate and co‑chair national Protection Cluster meetings, ensuring timely information sharing.
• Coordinate the protection response across the country, aligning with cluster strategies and humanitarian funding processes.
• Maintain and support a Protection Information Management system for analysis, coordination and advocacy.
• Provide guidance to cluster partners on needs assessments, project development and technical protection issues.
• Represent the cluster in coordination forums, with government, donors and inter‑cluster bodies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in humanitarian protection coordination or a similar field.
• Strong understanding of protection standards, humanitarian funding cycles and cluster mechanisms.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Ability to work in insecure and rapidly changing environments.
