Program Development Officer (Juba)

About the role

Samaritan's Purse is looking for a Program Development Officer to join its team in Juba, South Sudan. The role focuses on crafting high‑quality grant proposals, supporting project implementation, and ensuring accurate reporting to donors and leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Research and gather data to produce regular situation reports for senior leadership.
• Coordinate with grants, technical, and field teams to compile achievements for donor and board reports.
• Lead the proposal development process, ensuring compliance with donor guidelines and strategic priorities.
• Assist in drafting and reviewing proposal budgets in collaboration with finance staff.
• Provide success stories and program updates to the Communications department for external platforms.
• Review signed grant agreements for compliance and create summary project sheets.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with 3‑5 years of relevant experience, preferably with INGOs in Africa.
• Strong knowledge of major donor requirements (USAID, OFDA, UNHCR, WFP, etc.).
• Ability to travel to remote field locations and work in multicultural settings.
• Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and act as an effective witness.

Required skills

• Proven experience in database development and management.
• Proficiency with Canon DSLR cameras or similar equipment for field photography.
