Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning (MEAL) Officer

About the role

Under the direct supervision of the MEAL Manager, the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning (MEAL) Officer will support the implementation of MEAL activities across DRC programmes in South Sudan. Based in Juba, the role will work closely with programme teams and Area Office MEAL staff to ensure data quality, evidence‑based decision‑making and compliance with DRC standards.

Key responsibilities

• Implement DRC MEAL guidance, tools and standards in line with the country MEAL framework.
• Promote consistent application of MEAL models and minimum standards across projects.
• Apply data protection, ethical data collection and secure handling of MEAL data.
• Build capacity of programme, sector and field teams on MEAL tools and data quality requirements.
• Support the MEAL Specialist in assessments, baseline, end‑line, post‑distribution monitoring and evaluations.
• Update the beneficiary database in the AIPTT system.
• Plan and conduct field monitoring visits, verification exercises and routine data quality checks.
• Support post‑registration verification and deduplication processes.
