Medical Logistics Officer

About the role

The Medical Logistics Officer will lead the supply chain management of medicines and medical supplies at the county level for the International Rescue Committee. This role ensures timely transport, warehousing, dispatch to health facilities and loss management, supporting the organization’s humanitarian programs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead supply chain activities for medical supplies and pharmaceuticals, including warehousing, transport, and last‑mile distribution to health facilities.
• Maintain stock levels to achieve zero stock‑outs and conduct monthly physical inventories.
• Ensure compliance with IRC, donor, and Ministry of Health policies and procedures.
• Develop and sustain relationships with suppliers, local authorities, CHD, transporters and other stakeholders.
• Oversee cold‑chain storage, accurate stock entry, dispatch, and reporting.
• Provide capacity‑building support to staff on stock management and reporting.

Required profile

• Experience in logistics or supply chain management, preferably in the health sector.
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical and medical supply handling, including cold‑chain requirements.
• Ability to work collaboratively with government agencies, donors and partner organizations.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
