Logistics Officer – Bor, South Sudan

About the role

The Logistics Officer supports the procurement of goods and services for NRC projects in Jonglei State, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with NRC policies. The role involves extensive travel (70%) to project sites and coordination with multiple internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor the procurement support function according to NRC’s action plan and donor regulations.
• Track purchase requisitions in the Digital Procurement System, provide weekly status updates, and ensure transparent, value‑for‑money procurement processes.
• Maintain and update the supplier database, blacklist non‑performing vendors, and manage performance of the procurement team.
• Coordinate asset assignment and movement, and ensure proper filing of all procurement documents.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of logistics and procurement experience, preferably with an international NGO in emergency or post‑conflict settings.
• Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Development Studies or a related field.
• Strong understanding of the humanitarian context and security dynamics in Jonglei State.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience using Microsoft 365 collaboration tools such as SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and Planner.
• Hands‑on experience with Digital Procurement Systems and supplier management.
