Legal Trainee Internship – On‑site in South Sudan

About the role

Kuot & Law Associates is offering a Legal Trainee internship based on‑site in South Sudan. The position provides hands‑on support to attorneys, allowing the trainee to develop practical legal research, drafting, and compliance skills while being immersed in tax, regulatory, and commercial matters.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and analyse statutes, case law, and regulations.
• Draft basic legal documents, memoranda, and correspondence under supervision.
• Assist in preparing case files, organizing documentation, and supporting due‑diligence activities.
• Help with regulatory compliance tasks and maintain accurate records.
• Attend client meetings and internal briefings to take notes and summarize key points.

Required profile

• Foundational legal knowledge, currently studying or having completed an LLB or equivalent.
• Strong research and writing abilities with attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for professional client interaction.
• High organisational capability and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Integrity, discretion, and respect for confidentiality.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of local South Sudanese languages is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with word processing software.
• Experience using online legal research databases.
