HR Intern – Support HR Functions in South Sudan Office

About the role

This internship offers a hands‑on opportunity to support the Human Resources unit of UNOPS in South Sudan. Working under the supervision of the HR Officer, the intern will gain exposure to all core HR functions while contributing to recruitment, contract administration and knowledge‑sharing activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in recruitment campaigns, including outreach, long‑listing, short‑listing and administration of written assessments.
• Provide logistical and administrative support during interview panels and take accurate minutes.
• Enter and maintain contract data in the UNOPS ERP system, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
• Support the Portfolio Team with retainer payments, competency‑based interview question development and daily HR queries.
• Contribute to knowledge‑management projects, policy improvement suggestions and process‑efficiency initiatives.

Required profile

• Recent graduate or final‑year student in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
• Strong interest in international development and public‑sector HR practices.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multicultural team.

Required skills

• Familiarity with ERP systems (experience with UNOPS ERP is a plus).
