Health & Nutrition Manager – Emergency Response

About the role

We are seeking a Health and Nutrition Manager to lead emergency health and nutrition activities for Samaritans Purse in Unity State, South Sudan. The role combines technical oversight, field supervision, and coordination with partners to ensure lifesaving services reach those in crisis.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical and operational management of emergency health and nutrition programmes, ensuring timely delivery of medicines, trainings and nutrition commodities.
• Supervise field health and nutrition staff, providing hands‑on guidance, training and support while overseeing data collection and reporting.
• Serve as liaison with local governments, NGOs and sector partners (WASH, FSL, FA) to integrate health and nutrition principles into broader programming.
• Develop and refine project proposals, budgets and purchase requests in line with donor specifications and international standards.
• Conduct field assessments, identify implementation gaps and support logistics, reporting and training needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Nursing degree from an accredited institution and a valid licence to practice as a registered nurse or clinical officer.
• 2‑3 years of clinical experience, preferably in paediatrics or emergency medicine.
• At least 3 years of experience in emergency response health and nutrition programming, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1‑2 years of international public‑health experience, preferably in nutrition programming.
• Demonstrated personal Christian faith and commitment to Samaritans Purse’s statement of faith.
