Finance Officer

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a Finance Officer to support its South Sudan operations. This role will ensure accurate financial management, cash forecasting, and reporting for humanitarian programmes, helping vulnerable communities regain stability.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare cash forecasts and cash transfer requests aligned with monthly program needs.
• Monitor inventories using the INTEGRA system and share updates with relevant staff.
• Oversee internal and external commitments for grant closures, preparing journals and uploading them with proper controls.
• Support journal closeout, review key journals before loading, and ensure financial reports are accurate.
• Perform weekly and monthly bank reconciliations, file them promptly, and share results with the Juba office.
• Maintain organized filing folders for invoice and payment journals, ensuring all documentation is sequentially stored for easy retrieval.
• Review and approve financial reports, ensuring compliance with IRC standards.
