Finance Officer

About the role

The Finance Officer will work full‑time on‑site in Juba, South Sudan, supporting Action Against Hunger’s financial operations. The role ensures accurate financial transactions, reporting and compliance with donor and organisational requirements while providing data‑driven insights for decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day financial transactions and maintain accurate records.
• Prepare, review and analyse financial statements and reports.
• Ensure compliance with organisational policies, donor regulations and non‑profit financial standards.
• Monitor budgets, track expenditures and support budget preparation.
• Collaborate with program and administrative teams to maintain financial health and accountability.
• Communicate financial information clearly to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Strong proficiency in preparing and managing financial statements and reporting.
• Solid foundation in finance and analytical skills for effective decision‑making.
• Excellent communication abilities to engage with team members and stakeholders.
• Attention to detail, strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
• Knowledge of financial systems and tools, including accounting software.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within the NGO or humanitarian sector, and understanding of non‑profit financial regulations.
