Finance Officer – Humanitarian Programs

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a Finance Officer to support its humanitarian programmes in South Sudan. This position will ensure accurate financial processing, cash management, and compliance with IRC’s financial policies across field operations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare cash forecasts and cash transfer requests aligned with monthly programme needs.
• Monitor inventories using INTEGRA and coordinate with relevant staff.
• Manage internal and external commitments for grant closures, including journal preparation and system uploads.
• Support close‑out reviews and ensure key journals are reviewed before loading.
• Perform weekly and monthly bank reconciliations and share results with the Juba office promptly.
• Maintain organized filing for invoice and payment journals, ensuring all supporting documentation is readily retrievable.

Required profile

• Experience in finance or accounting functions, preferably within an NGO or humanitarian context.
• Ability to handle month‑end processing and cash management tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to financial controls.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the INTEGRA financial system.
• Bank reconciliation expertise.
