Finance Manager – Play Matters Project

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Finance Manager to support the Play Matters project in South Sudan. You will work closely with the Deputy Director of Finance to ensure accurate budgeting, reporting, and treasury operations for this humanitarian initiative.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor project budget, monthly spending plans, and cash projections to maintain sufficient liquidity.
• Prepare and update grant, operating, and cash budgets; manage budget realignments and obtain donor approvals.
• Produce monthly budget‑vs‑actual reports, variance analysis, and quarterly financial reports for internal review and donor submission.
• Oversee all financial transactions, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, IRC policies, and South Sudan regulations.
• Maintain internal controls, support audits, and manage treasury functions including cash management, banking, and foreign‑currency handling.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial management for grant‑funded projects, preferably in the humanitarian or non‑profit sector.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, financial reporting, and treasury operations.
• Ability to work collaboratively with program and operations teams and communicate financial information clearly.
