About the role
Samaritan's Purse is seeking an Operations Coordinator for its International Projects team in South Sudan. The organisation works through humanitarian action to help people and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. - Maintain precise fixed-asset logs for bi-annual counts, assist with receiving and dispatching cargo while improving documentation, and act as field trainer for staff development.
- Support the Emergency Response Procurement & Logistics Coordinator with sensitive payment packages, prepare contracts for purchases over $20,000, and strengthen internal controls and standard operating procedures.
- Organize quotes, prepare bid-committee meetings, manage open tenders, framework agreements and contracts, and lead the annual re-vetting of approved suppliers.
- Coordinate bi-annual physical inventory counts, including field visits, and ensure compliance with policy.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university, with one to two years of related experience and training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required); if not yet completed, there is an opportunity to meet and complete it after hiring.
- Fluency in English; intermediate verbal and written Arabic is preferred.
- Experience in warehousing, logistics, inventory and asset management is strongly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret government laws, humanitarian and political reports and annual reports, and to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before large groups and key partners, and to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatic form.
Required skills
- Access or other relational database systems preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication in English.
What we offer
- International medical, prescription, dental and vision insurance.
- Paid family medical leave.
- Retirement savings plan.
- Paid holidays, 12 vacation/personal days and 10 sick days.
- On-site medical clinic when at the headquarters.
