Education Project Officer – EFASS (South Sudan)

About the role

The Education Project Officer will support the implementation, coordination and monitoring of the Education for All South Sudan (EFASS) project in Torit and Magwi counties. Working closely with schools, teachers and community stakeholders, the officer will help improve access to quality education for vulnerable children and adolescents through accelerated learning programmes and alternative pathways.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Education Manager in day‑to‑day implementation of EFASS activities in designated schools.
• Facilitate the establishment of school clubs and support teachers in applying the Teaching at the Right Level (TARL) approach.
• Ensure timely distribution of educational materials and monitor their use.
• Coordinate community engagement with PTAs, SMCs and local education officials.
• Collect, verify and analyse data on programme performance and produce regular reports.
• Develop individual work plans, monitor progress and contribute to project improvement plans.
• Maintain child safeguarding Level 3 compliance and support vetting processes.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Education, International Development or a related field.
• Experience in implementing education projects in humanitarian or low‑resource settings.
• Knowledge of South Sudan’s education system and climate‑change integration in schools.
• Ability to travel regularly to Torit and Magwi and work with vulnerable children.
• Strong communication and reporting skills.
