Data Clerk (G4) – WHO Field Operations, South Sudan

About the role

The World Health Organization is seeking a Data Clerk (G4) to support Bundibugyo Virus Disease (BVD) readiness and response activities in priority counties of South Sudan. The incumbent will ensure accurate, timely, and secure data entry, cleaning, validation, filing and reporting to aid operational decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, register, organize and enter data from paper and electronic tools into WHO and Ministry of Health databases and trackers.
• Update information on alerts, investigations, suspected cases, laboratory results, contacts, readiness indicators, training, supplies and partner activities.
• Maintain daily zero‑reporting and completeness trackers for health facilities, points of entry, counties and reporting units.
• Check submitted forms and datasets for completeness, consistency, duplication and obvious errors, and follow up with reporting units as needed.
• Support the preparation of routine reports, dashboards and line‑lists for operational decision‑making.
• Assist with data collection and reporting for other concurrent public health emergencies when required.

Required profile

• Experience in health‑related data entry, validation and management.
• Ability to work under direct supervision of the WHO Information and Data Management Officer and coordinate with county teams.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify data inconsistencies.
• Familiarity with WHO reporting tools and public health surveillance systems is advantageous.
