Clearing Officer – Nimule, South Sudan

About the role

The Clearing Officer will ensure the efficient and compliant movement of fuel, material trucks and other consignments through Nimule, South Sudan. Working closely with the clearing agent and government authorities, you will coordinate customs clearance, handle related documentation and report on all activities to headquarters.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate timely clearing of fuel and material trucks with the clearing agent.
• Submit monthly expense reports, petty cash details and truck‑clearing data for invoicing.
• Liaise with Ministry of Customs and other government bodies to obtain clearances.
• Report daily and weekly on truck release status, cash flow and usage of exemptions/import licences.
• Handle cash payments for truck releases and provide weekly finance updates.
• Manage documentation for transshipment, accidents, technical issues and re‑export (Form‑9).
• Minimise parking fees, arrange escorts for truck movements between Nimule and Nesitu, and ensure compliance with customs regulations.
• Track customs procedures, charges and optimise clearance costs.

Required profile

• Currently residing and working in South Sudan.
• Experience in customs clearance, logistics or transport operations.
• Strong organisational and reporting skills.
• Ability to work with government authorities and handle cash transactions responsibly.
