Chief of Party – Roving Response Program

About the role

Samaritans Purse is seeking a Chief of Party to lead its Roving Response Program in South Sudan. Based in Juba, the role combines senior leadership with hands‑on field oversight to deliver multi‑sectoral humanitarian assistance in a challenging environment.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and oversee a multi‑sectoral program, ensuring compliance with donor rules, Samaritans Purse standards, and international regulations.
• Manage the grant budget, produce accurate financial reports, and maintain spending within approved limits.
• Coordinate with government authorities, UN agencies, other humanitarian actors, and partners to align project objectives.
• Conduct regular field visits to support staff, resolve programmatic challenges, and identify future opportunities.
• Supervise 5‑10 non‑supervisory staff and 2 supervisory staff, handling recruitment, performance appraisal, and disciplinary actions.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in senior‑level leadership of humanitarian programs in conflict‑affected, flood‑prone, or logistically constrained settings.
• Strong understanding of cultural, ethnic, and social dynamics influencing program acceptance and beneficiary targeting.
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, manage complex budgets, and ensure compliance with donor requirements.
