Chief Engineer – Building & Engineering Head of Department

About the role

We are seeking a Building & Engineering Head of Department and Chief Engineer to lead the property maintenance function for a Radisson hotel. The role ensures that all facilities operate at the highest standards, delivering memorable experiences for guests while supporting the hotel’s operational targets.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the property maintenance department, ensuring all areas are maintained to the highest standards.
• Proactively improve guest satisfaction and comfort through timely responses to enquiries and maintenance issues.
• Develop and implement maintenance plans that meet hotel targets and sustainability goals.
• Lead, coach and develop the maintenance team, fostering a culture of growth and high performance.
• Prepare and manage the departmental budget, controlling costs, inventory and productivity.
• Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Establish and run a planned preventative maintenance programme, addressing environmental and conservation matters.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and audit requirements, documenting due‑diligence activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in property maintenance with strong problem‑solving capabilities.
• Excellent leadership skills with a hands‑on, lead‑by‑example approach.
• Commitment to exceptional guest service and a passion for the hospitality industry.
• Ability to devise creative solutions and provide sound recommendations.
