WASH/Health Coordinator

About the role

The WASH/Health Coordinator will lead the implementation of the RISE project in Tambura, ensuring that water, sanitation, hygiene (WASH) and health interventions reach vulnerable communities. This role combines project management, budget oversight, and staff supervision to achieve project objectives in line with donor and organisational standards.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all project deliverables are met according to the proposal and logical framework, including training community hygiene promoters and conducting awareness campaigns.
• Lead the distribution of WASH non‑food items (NFIs) such as soap and hand‑washing facilities to targeted beneficiaries.
• Prepare and submit weekly, monthly and quarterly reports, adhering to DRA policy and international standards.
• Manage the health budget and expenses in line with donor approvals, raising requisitions and tracking payments.
• Coordinate procurement activities with the World Vision South Sudan procurement team, ensuring timely ordering and delivery of materials.
• Support capacity‑building initiatives for both WASH and health teams in collaboration with Human Resources.
• Develop and monitor project budgets, BOQs, procurement plans and quarterly forecasts.
• Guide county and project staff, ensure performance agreements are signed, and conduct regular appraisals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Medicine, Clinical Medicine, Nursing, Midwifery, Public Health or a related paramedical discipline.
• Demonstrated understanding of South Sudan’s health system.
• Experience in managing WASH or health projects in humanitarian settings.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
