WASH Coordinator – Integrated WASH Programme

About the role

The WASH Coordinator will lead the Integrated WASH Programme in Abyei, supporting the delivery of safe water, sanitation and hygiene services to vulnerable populations affected by conflict, displacement and climate shocks.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee implementation of water, sanitation and hygiene interventions in the Abyei area.
• Work closely with partners, local authorities and communities to ensure activities meet health and safety standards.
• Monitor programme performance, collect data on water quality and hygiene practices, and report progress to senior management.
• Ensure compliance with child safeguarding policies, including mandatory police checks for staff handling children’s data.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in humanitarian WASH programmes or similar water‑sanitation projects.
• Ability to work in insecure, remote environments and adapt to rapidly changing conditions.
• Willingness to undergo child safeguarding checks as required.
