Protection Officer – South Sudan (Juba)

About the role

The Protection from Violence Officer will support the implementation of NRC's Protection from Violence (PfV) portfolio in South Sudan, based in Juba. The role involves delivering both fixed‑site and mobile services, monitoring activities, and ensuring compliance with technical standards and humanitarian principles.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the delegated PfV project portfolio according to the approved plan of action.
• Deliver civilian self‑protection programming and individual response services, travelling up to 80% of the time.
• Conduct protection monitoring, analysis and advocacy in line with Safe and Inclusive Programming principles.
• Prepare status reports, donor reports and ensure proper filing of all project documents.
• Collaborate with other PfV officers to provide technical guidance and share best practices.
• Promote and document ideas for technical improvement and programme development.

Required profile

• Experience in protection programming or humanitarian response.
• Ability to travel extensively within South Sudan and work in challenging environments.
• Strong reporting and documentation skills.
• Commitment to NRC’s core values, code of conduct and confidentiality standards.
