PMEAL Coordinator – South Sudan (1-year contract)

About the role

The Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (PMEAL) Coordinator will support Johanniter‑International Assistance’s humanitarian programmes in South Sudan. Based in Juba with regular travel to Wau and Torit, the coordinator will ensure that project activities in health, nutrition, WASH and food security are effectively planned, monitored, evaluated and that lessons are captured and shared.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the planning, monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning processes for all programmes in South Sudan.
• Develop and maintain data collection tools, indicators and reporting templates.
• Analyse monitoring data, produce regular reports and provide actionable recommendations.
• Facilitate learning workshops and disseminate best practices across project sites.
• Ensure compliance with donor and organisational accountability standards.
• Travel to project locations (Wau, Torit) to support field teams and verify data quality.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree (e.g., International Development, Public Health, Social Sciences).
• Proven experience in monitoring and evaluation within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Familiarity with the South Sudan operating environment and ability to travel frequently.
• Strong analytical and report‑writing skills.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
