Movement Control Assistant

About the role

The Movement Control Assistant will work in the Movement Control and Distribution Unit of UNISFA, supporting the safe and efficient transport of cargo and passengers to and from the mission area. Reporting to a senior assistant, the role involves coordinating air and road movements, handling customs procedures, and ensuring compliance with international regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Arrange inbound and outbound cargo movements by air and road, monitor deliveries and communicate shipping details.
• Prepare cargo manifests, customs clearance documents and other required paperwork.
• Ensure dangerous cargo is packed and handled according to International Regulations.
• Coordinate passenger movement on UN or chartered aircraft, assist with customs and immigration clearance.
• Check-in passengers, verify cargo labeling, weighing, and loading in line with aviation safety standards.
• Liaise with aircraft crew to ensure proper loading of passengers and cargo and handover of documents.
• Provide flight schedule information and travel booking assistance.
• Assist with visa processing and hotel accommodation when required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
