Humanitarian Access and Safety Manager

About the role

The Humanitarian Access and Safety Manager will support the Head of Humanitarian Access and Staff Safety and field managers in protecting staff, partners and assets, while ensuring safe humanitarian access for programmes in Jonglei, Upper Nile and Abyei.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and oversee implementation of humanitarian access, safety and security measures in field locations.
• Ensure compliance with SCI policies, SOPs, humanitarian principles, duty of care and gender‑equality standards.
• Provide expert advice and technical support to field offices and the Country Office in Juba.
• Facilitate training and capacity‑building activities on safety and security management.
• Monitor risks, propose mitigation actions and support senior leadership decisions on critical safety matters.
• Maintain Minimum Operating Standards (MOSS) and promote a culture of safety across the mission.

Required profile

• South Sudanese national; female candidates are encouraged to apply.
• Minimum 5 years experience in humanitarian access, safety or security management, preferably in conflict‑affected settings.
• Strong knowledge of humanitarian principles, duty of care and gender‑equality concepts.
• Proven ability to support field teams and senior leadership.
• Fluent English communication skills.
