GIS Officer (CST II) – Logistics Cluster

About the role

The World Food Programme is seeking a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Officer (CST II) to provide GIS mapping services for its South Sudan office. The role supports logistics, program, emergency, security and other operational areas by delivering accurate spatial information.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain GIS databases and deliver map products on schedule, supporting logistics, program, emergency, security, UNHAS, flood assessment, road rehabilitation and warehouse mapping.
• Collect and disseminate access‑constraints information from partners through dedicated maps.
• Synchronize spatial data with WFP Headquarters to ensure consistency and alignment.
• Provide technical support for the use and dissemination of GIS data in line with HQ policies.
• Assist in the preparation of GIS‑related reports and visualisations for internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Relevant academic background or professional experience in geographic information systems, cartography or a related field.
• Experience working in humanitarian or development contexts is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multi‑disciplinary team.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• GIS software and database management.
