Emergency Response Health & Nutrition Program Manager

About the role

Samaritan's Purse is seeking an experienced Emergency Response Health and Nutrition Program Manager to lead health‑nutrition interventions in South Sudan. The role combines clinical oversight, program quality assurance, and partnership coordination to deliver life‑saving services to vulnerable populations.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure clinical and nutrition program quality by applying Ministry of Health, WHO, and sector standards, overseeing patient safety, infection‑prevention, and commodity accountability.
• Supervise staff and contractors, providing on‑the‑job training and supportive supervision.
• Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports; lead needs assessments, draft concept notes, and develop proposals for resource mobilization.
• Act as primary liaison with government health ministries, NGOs, donors, and partners to coordinate activities, ensure compliance, and promote mission goals.
• Spend the majority of time directly with beneficiaries—children, youth, and at‑risk adults—advocating for their well‑being and safeguarding their rights.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in medicine, nursing, public health, nutrition, or a related health discipline (master’s preferred).
• Current professional registration for regulated clinical practice.
• Minimum five years of health and nutrition experience, including three years managing humanitarian programs, staff, budgets, and clinical or nutrition quality.
• Proven experience coordinating with government agencies, UN bodies, and donor partners.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Ministry of Health, WHO, and Core Humanitarian Standard guidelines.
• Ability to monitor clinical and nutrition program indicators and ensure compliance.
• Strong reporting and proposal‑writing capabilities.
