Emergency Response Field Accountant

About the role

The Emergency Response Field Accountant supports humanitarian projects in South Sudan by ensuring accurate financial management and transparent reporting. This position works closely with project teams and beneficiaries to uphold the organization’s mission and financial integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Record all payable and bank transactions, manage cash advances and field expense reports.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and prepare timely financial statements.
• Compile donor‑grant reports that meet internal policies and external audit requirements.
• Collaborate with Area Coordinators, project managers, and operations staff to provide financial guidance.
• Cover Finance Manager duties as needed and support audit processes.
• Monitor and renew contracts for rentals, facilities, and vehicles.
• Spend time interacting with beneficiaries, children, youth, and at‑risk adults to promote well‑being.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related field.
• 1–2 years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Intermediate mathematical skills and ability to interpret business documents and regulations.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
