Emergency Response Area Coordinator

About the role

Join Samaritan's Purse as an Emergency Response Area Coordinator in South Sudan, leading humanitarian programs that serve vulnerable communities. You will work closely with senior leadership to ensure effective, compassionate relief operations across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the Emergency Response Director to oversee all projects in the assigned area, guiding senior national and expatriate staff.
• Assess emerging needs, design program concepts, and prepare donor reports, proposals, and budgets.
• Manage procurement, transport, inventory, and finance systems, monitoring budgets and approving expenditures.
• Serve as the primary liaison with local authorities, NGOs, churches, and UN partners, maintaining safety protocols and contingency plans.
• Oversee payroll, contracts, and staff development in coordination with HR, while engaging directly with beneficiaries.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support mission objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with 3‑4 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated cross‑cultural team leadership, preferably in Africa and South Sudan.
• Experience managing multiple humanitarian programs and large, diverse teams.
• Strong ability to oversee program cycles, logistics, and financial stewardship.
