Assistant Commodity Manager, Emergency Response

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Commodity Manager, Emergency Response to support our International Projects team in Unity State, South Sudan. The role combines supply‑chain planning, procurement coordination and warehouse management to ensure timely delivery of humanitarian commodities to beneficiaries.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the commodity supply‑chain forecast, coordinate procurement and replenishment, and track stock from source to final distribution.
• Direct warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, issuance, security, inventory control and application of FEFO/FIFO principles.
• Supervise emergency commodity distributions, follow Sphere Standards and SOPs, and maintain precise documentation and reconciliation for each distribution.
• Prepare audit‑ready reports and summaries on stock, pipeline and distributions that meet donor and internal compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with logistics, procurement, program, finance, suppliers and external partners; train and guide warehouse personnel; and engage with beneficiaries to promote their welfare.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Procurement or a related field (Master’s degree advantageous).
• Minimum five years of experience in supply chain, logistics or commodity management, preferably in humanitarian emergency response or fragile contexts.
• Proven experience managing large‑scale commodity pipelines, emergency distributions and warehouse operations.
• Prior experience with INGOs, faith‑based organisations or UN agencies is highly desirable; experience in South Sudan or similar contexts is an added advantage.
