Area Support Manager – South Sudan (Aweil)

About the role

The Area Support Manager will lead and coordinate all support functions—including finance, human resources, logistics, procurement, administration and ICT—for NRC’s North Area Office in South Sudan. This senior position ensures that programme teams receive high‑quality, compliant support to deliver assistance to affected populations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide line‑management and performance oversight for finance, HR, admin, logistics and ICT staff.
• Ensure compliance with NRC policies, donor requirements and audit standards.
• Lead the development of area‑level budgets, business plans and resource allocation.
• Develop and maintain technical SOPs, guidelines and tools specific to the area.
• Coordinate strategic input from support functions into the country strategy and programme proposals.
• Oversee financial monitoring, procurement processes and logistics planning for project implementation and emergency response.
• Drive capacity‑building initiatives for support staff and promote organisational learning.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing multi‑disciplinary support teams in humanitarian or development settings.
• Strong understanding of finance, HR, logistics, procurement and ICT operations.
• Ability to align support services with programme priorities and anticipate operational risks.
• Excellent leadership, coaching and performance‑management skills.
