Project Officer Peacebuilding

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Project Officer to lead peacebuilding initiatives that foster dialogue, reconciliation, and social cohesion in vulnerable communities. The role involves planning, coordinating, and monitoring activities that integrate peacebuilding into broader development programs.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and implement peacebuilding activities such as dialogues, trainings, and community engagement sessions.
• Facilitate workshops on conflict sensitivity, mediation, and reconciliation.
• Support the integration of peacebuilding approaches into development and humanitarian projects.
• Prepare work plans, procurement plans and ensure proper monitoring and reporting of project activities.
• Promote natural resource management using a landscape approach and improve food utilization practices.
• Engage with local leaders, youth groups, women’s associations and other stakeholders to ensure inclusive participation.
• Strengthen community‑based structures for conflict resolution and promote non‑violent conflict management.
• Ensure gender‑sensitive and disability‑inclusive beneficiary selection in line with grant protocols.
• Assist with budget planning, expenditure monitoring and timely financial reporting for the peacebuilding component.

Required profile

• Experience in peacebuilding, conflict resolution or community development, preferably in humanitarian settings.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholder groups, including local authorities and civil society.
• Strong understanding of gender sensitivity and disability inclusion requirements.
• Excellent reporting and documentation skills.
