Project Manager (UN-Habitat, South Sudan)

About the role

UN-Habitat is seeking a qualified National Project Manager to support the South Sudan component of the EU Operational Support to the IGAD Platform. Based in Juba, the consultant will provide administrative, operational and programme support to ensure timely, budget‑compliant delivery of project activities and alignment with UN‑Habitat and donor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate project schedules, meetings and field missions.
• Manage financial and procurement processes in accordance with UN‑Habitat guidelines.
• Prepare and submit project documentation, monitoring reports and quality assessments.
• Engage with partners, stakeholders and government entities to facilitate effective collaboration.
• Support governance, housing, land‑rights and climate‑resilient service initiatives.
• Monitor project performance, identify risks and propose mitigation measures.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree (e.g., urban planning, development studies, public administration).
• Proven experience in project management within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Familiarity with the South Sudan environment and its institutional challenges.
• Strong communication, coordination and reporting abilities.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
