Humanitarian Mine Action Technical Field Manager

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council is seeking an experienced Humanitarian Mine Action (HMA) Technical Field Manager to lead and ensure the safe, effective, and compliant delivery of mine action programmes in South Sudan. This senior position provides technical leadership, operational oversight and quality assurance across a range of HMA activities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead planning, implementation, supervision and quality assurance of all HMA operations (BAC, EOD, NTS, EORE) in assigned areas.
• Provide regular technical updates, risk assessments and resource recommendations to the HMA Operations Manager.
• Support operational planning, budgeting, proposal development and accreditation processes.
• Ensure compliance with IMAS, South Sudan National Technical Standards and Guidelines, DRC SOPs and donor requirements.
• Escalate operational, technical, security or compliance issues and recommend mitigation measures.
• Represent DRC as senior HMA representative, coordinating logistics, administration and stakeholder engagement.

Required profile

• Extensive operational experience in humanitarian mine action, preferably in South Sudan.
• Proven ability to provide technical leadership in complex, rapidly changing environments.
• Strong commitment to humanitarian principles, operational excellence and partnership development.
• Excellent analytical, reporting and decision‑making skills.
