Health and Nutrition Programme Manager

About the role

The Health and Nutrition Programme Manager provides strategic leadership and oversees the implementation of the ECHO‑funded Health and Nutrition Project in Abyei. Reporting to the Field Manager and supported by senior technical staff, the role ensures that project targets are met, donor requirements are fulfilled, and high‑quality reporting is delivered.

Key responsibilities

• Lead planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the health and nutrition project.
• Manage the project budget, control expenditures and ensure compliance with donor financial guidelines.
• Oversee performance monitoring, service‑delivery reporting and production of narrative and financial reports.
• Coordinate with consortium partners, health authorities and NGOs to strengthen routine monitoring, joint reviews and timely reporting.
• Promote synergies with other ECHO‑funded interventions and the broader Save the Children health portfolio.
• Document lessons learned, manage knowledge sharing and support the development of new funding proposals.
• Represent Save the Children in coordination forums and maintain partnerships with the Ministry of Health, UNICEF, WHO, WFP and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing donor‑funded health and nutrition programmes in humanitarian settings.
• Strong leadership and capacity‑building skills for multidisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, financial reporting and compliance.
• Experience working with consortium partners and government health ministries.
• Excellent coordination and stakeholder‑engagement capabilities.
