Driver – Transport Staff & Supplies for STRIDES in Juba

About the role

The Driver will provide safe, reliable, and timely transportation for staff, consultants, and official visitors of the STRIDES activity in Juba, South Sudan. This role also supports the movement of program supplies, equipment, and documents between the office, warehouse, and field sites while adhering to FHI 360 safety and security protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Transport Country Office personnel and visitors to meetings, program sites, the airport, and other approved destinations in Juba and, when required, to field sites outside the city.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness, safety, and security; perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, inspections, brake checks, and tire pressure monitoring.
• Keep accurate mileage, fuel, and trip logs; ensure vehicle registration, insurance, permits, and spare parts are up‑to‑date.
• Plan routes based on schedules or ad‑hoc requests, ensuring compliance with local traffic laws and FHI 360 driver safety policies.
• Assist with loading and unloading of laboratory supplies, PPE, and other program equipment; run errands and deliver items as directed.
• Follow all FHI 360 safety and security procedures, including movement and communication protocols, and provide protection for clients in high‑risk locations when needed.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a vehicle safely in urban and remote road conditions.
• Commitment to follow local traffic regulations and organizational safety policies.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a customer‑service mindset for assisting passengers during entry and exit.
• Willingness to travel to decentralized project sites, including unpaved or remote roads.
