About the role
The Resource Mobilization, Partnerships & Communications Specialist will secure funding and raise UNFPA’s profile as a thought leader on maternal health, gender‑based violence and youth in South Sudan. The role bridges technical programming with persuasive storytelling to attract bilateral donors, IFIs and the private sector.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement a multi‑year resource mobilisation strategy aligned with UNFPA South Sudan’s Country Programme.
- Lead the design and drafting of high‑quality, technically sound proposals for donors such as SSHF, CERF, World Bank, USAID, FCDO and the EU.
- Maintain a live donor tracking database and DARTS system, identifying non‑traditional funding opportunities.
- Oversee the proposal pipeline and ensure timely, analytical donor reporting that demonstrates value for money.
- Design and execute a visibility strategy that amplifies the voices of vulnerable women and girls, producing multimedia content (stories, photo essays, short videos) from hard‑to‑reach areas.
Required profile
- Proven experience in resource mobilisation, donor relations and communications within humanitarian or development contexts.
- Strong understanding of UNFPA’s mandate, maternal health, GBV and youth issues, especially in South Sudan.
- Ability to translate complex technical data into compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
