Health and Nutrition Programme Manager – ECHO Project

About the role

The Health and Nutrition Programme Manager will lead the ECHO‑funded Health and Nutrition Project in Abyei, providing strategic direction, financial oversight and operational coordination. Reporting to the Abyei Field Manager and supported by senior technical staff, the role ensures high‑quality service delivery, compliance with donor requirements and effective partnership management.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement project work plans, budgets and monitoring frameworks.
• Oversee financial management, expenditure control and timely reporting.
• Coordinate a multidisciplinary team of health, nutrition, WASH and HMIS officers.
• Manage consortium partners, facilitate joint reviews and ensure integrated service delivery.
• Represent Save the Children in coordination forums with ministries, UN agencies and NGOs.
• Document lessons learned, support knowledge management and contribute to new funding proposals.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing donor‑funded health and nutrition programmes in humanitarian settings.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, financial reporting and performance monitoring.
• Excellent coordination skills with government, UN and partner organisations.
• Ability to lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams.
